Seasons
There are four seasons in a year: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. I will start from summer. Summer is the hottest season in a year. The bright sunshine scorches the earth. Not a single cloud in the sky. It is pleasant to take a short break after the hard year. People go to the seaside to lie in the sun, to swim in the sea and come back to their works and studies, healthy and full of vitality. In summer the weather is boiling hot at times. Sometimes there are heavy thunderstorms in summer. As the most part of summer has sunny periods. Autumn is the season between summer and winter. In some countries this season is called the fall because it is the period of falling leaves. Autumn is also the harvest time for many crops. Early autumn days are generally warm and nights are cool. The end of autumn is marked by the migration of birds, and prewinter snowstorms. In September the weather is fine. October and Novermber are rainy. The sky is most overcast with low and heavy clouds. In October the days are growing rapidly shorter and the sun rays lose their warmth. In Novermber almost all tries have cast off their leaves and stand barely and lonely. Winter is the coldest season of the year. It has three months such as December, January, and February. By the way, there is a breath of winter in the end of November. It is gtting colder day by day. The coldness makes the hands cold and stiff. In the morning of December you may look out of the window and say, "Hey ! The ground, the roofs of the houses are thick with snow. Everything around looks so beautiful ! Winter set in".
Spring
Every season is beautiful in its own way But for me spring is the best one. I like spring because it is the time of hope and happiness. Spring isone of the most beautiful and optimistic seasons of the year because it symbolizes the transformation from the cold and gray winter to the warmthy and lite of summer. As J. Galssworthy said: From where he sat he could see a cluster of apple trees in blossom Blackbirds sang recklessly in the shrubbery, swallows were flying high the leaves above him glistened; and over the fields was every imaginable lint of early foliage, burnished by the sunlight. Spring has come and everything is awaking from its winter sleep. The fields and meadows are dressed in green. Birds sing their songs among the trees and begin to get their nests ready for summer. The gardeners dig the ground and sow seeds in the gardens. Spring is a busy season for gardeners who have much to do in their orchards. Farmers work in the fields from early morning till late at night. The days are warmer for the bright sunshine has come again Everything is full of life and joy. Soon the soft spring showers will fall, water the earth and make the seeds grow. Trees are bursting in leaf, flowers are breaking into blossom. The white snow-drop is one of the first flowers of spring How lovely it is! Then forget-me-nots lilies of the valley and violets make their appearance The days become longer and the mights become shorter The air is fresh the sky is blue and cloudless and the sun shines brightly. The nightingale begins to sing its lovely songs and sweet melodies may be heard from every wood and park. But there are also some holidays in spring They are April Fool's Day, Easter and of course Mothers Day. Children all over the world look forward to April 1st April Fools Day. By tradition it is the day on which jokes are played The children might decide to wake their parents with the news that the house is on fire. or that some other disaster has occurred When they see the looks of alarm of their victims' faces they shout, "April Fool". At school serious work is practically forgotten as the children try to pin notices on one another's backs. The notices say things like "Kick ME", or "I'm A Fool". Teachers have to be particularly careful or they too might find themselves walking around with a silly sign on their backs. On this day of national good humor, the television service joins in the fun Last year they told the story of a building that had been built upside-down By mistake. They showed an example of looked better when it was turned the other way Many people must have been fooled. And perhaps the architect himself was given food for thought. The other holiday famous all over the world is "Mother's Day". Everybody congratulates their mothers, girlfriends, give them different presents and especially flowers as they are loved by all the women in the world All the kids make surprises to their mothers. And the last holiday is Easter. It is celebrated by all the people that believe in Jesus Christ. In Russia and Belarus people usually color eggs go to churches and just spend quite evenings with their families
