My Flat
Choosing a living place depends on people`s tastes and opportunities. Some people prefer to live in high-rised block of flats and others in private cottages. Frankly speaking, it`s rather hard to drop in a good flat with all modern conveniences, so most of people have to search the streets for a quite, nice neighborhood. As for me I live in the high-rised block of flats on the ninth floor. Our flat consists of three rooms: a living-room, and two bedrooms (one for me and one for my parents). We occupied this flat in 1991 and because of it we have so many happy memories of time spent here. As you come into the living-room you`ll see a cupboard standing against the wall. On the right is a large window which faces south. You also can find here big stereo system, tv, telephone, VCR. Our living-room is the largest in the flat and it is nicely furnished only with all necessary pieces such as a sofa, two armchairs, a display cabinet unit and some book shelves. Truthfully speaking it`s rather suitable for guests.I have a room that I share with my sister. It`s used as a study to do my lessons. Also you can find here a bunk bed where I sleep with my sister at night and have a nap in the daytime. There are two desks. One of it with computer and telephone, two chairs. The bedroom of my parents is just on the left. It`s a little bit larger than mine. There is one bed, a wardrobe and two big speakers. There is a lovely carpet on the floor between the bed and wardrobe. Our kitchen is rather large. There is a gas-stove, four stools, a refrigerator and a cupboard where we keep cups and plates. The kitchen serves us as a dining-room. But when we receive guests or have our family celebrations we have the meals in the living room. As you see, our kitchen is an incomparable one. The bathroom is near the kitchen. Here we keep our toilet articles, have a bath and a shower. The hall is very big. There`s a hall stand and a mirror on the wall. We are happy to have such a nice flat and try to keep it clean. My parents are very hospitable. They often invite friends and relatives to our place. And everybody makes himself at home here.
