My School
In our country school begins at the age of six. Many boys and girls usually leave school at the age of seventeen. Our school year begins on the first of September. It is the day of Knowledge. I am 15 years old & I'm going to the 8th form. I study at the school #4 with profound study of English. Our lessons begin at eight. We have classes six days a week. Every day we have six-seven lessons. There are many different subjects at the timetable, such as Math, Russian & Belarussian, History, Art, Music, English and so on. Our school is large. It is old. It was build 30 years ago. A 3-stored building consists of four wings: one wing for primary school on first and second floors, workshop & library on the ground floor, second wing for canteen on ground flour & on first floor there are Assembly Hall & school museum, third wing for secondary school. And the last wing it is our gym hall. Our classrooms are large & light. We have got biology lab, physics lab, "computer" class, music cabinet & many different English classes. You know our school is with profound study of English, so we learn English more than in others schools. I joy my English classes. We had different teachers in different forms. And all of them speak English fluently & encourages our interest in the subject. Our English classes are informative, useful and enjoyable. We learn a lot about the English - speaking countries, besides our teachers always teach of something interesting to do in class. We play different roles, recite poems, and sing different American & English songs. We learn to imagine things and make up stories. We write compositions on the books we read. We listen to recordings & learn to understand native speakers. So we are happy to be able to communicate with them elsewhere. Our teachers sometimes give us tests in English grammar or vocabulary. I like my English lessons. In our Assembly hall we have concerts, lectures and performances of the school amateur theatre. We have nearly 200 seats there. In our workshop girls learn how to cook & how to nit. Boys work with wood and metal there. In our biology, chemistry & physics labs our teachers show us different exhibits, schemes & tables. If we need information for our lessons we can go to the library, there are many different books in our library. Librarians always help as in search of information. Our school had bad sides and good sides. One of the bad sides is that our school very old & school needs rebuilding. But we have not had money. The next problem is our canteen, the meal is cold and don't tasty.
